The Heat
The heat is on. So to speak. It is soooooo HOT! Its face melting, hair hardening, gut crunching, ball sweating hot! I woke up with a cool head and it all changed right after I stepped out of the bath. I was hugged by a wall of heat and as you may guess, it was downhill after that. The heat today was like doing laundry on a rainy day. It just is shitty.
To make matters worse, the wife and I had a whole itinerary planned out. Things we had to do that were not by choice but obligation so even if we didn’t want to, we had to brave the desert like heat. So after being greeted by a wall of heat out of the bathroom, I was sweatdressing (my newly coined word for sweating while dressing up). Imagine putting antperspirant on a perspiring armpit or deodorizing an already odorfilled armpit. It was like applying deodorant on sweat. Kind of beats the purpose. Like this is not even the main point of dismay here. So off we go. We embarked on our proud “Grimey 1″ which at this time doubled as an oven. An oven for cooking rice cakes. Heat from above and heat from the bottom. I swear.
Apologies for this bombardment of negativity, I know you understand how I feel.
Sequence of Events
The years reality has finally struck. The holidays left a good hangover but the time of waking up has come. Goodmorning! Taxes, bills, utilities, maintenance and everything under the sun that you don’t want to face are now in your face giving you a facial. (proud of this sentence)
Just moved to a new house, nearer and more accessible – reality, more expensive.
Just had the car fixed – reality, damn I was that close to an accident. expensive.
New Job, Whoohoo! – reality, its not going to be easy but it really is awesome.
Those are some of the things that smacked me in the face lately. Im not really unhappy about it, I feel challenged. Its just that sometimes the way these things imprison you, cut you of your rights to live a well priviledged life, I have to admit kinda sucks. The parking lot of things you put on low priority gets bigger. Then again we all just have to suck it up, face the music and smile. Easier said than done.
Don’t mean to paint this pretty picture with a huge muck of dirt, just keeping it real. Ho humm.
